Prison-Music Map

Identifying what is available where in the prisons system is an extremely difficult task that many organisations have tried with little success. The data is gathered from Prison Inspectorate Reports (2015+), IMB reports (2018), the MoJs list of education certificates (2016-18 academic year) as well as contacting many of the organisations directly. Each organisation records their activities in a different way.

Good Vibrations provided a list of all courses they had delivered up until the first quarter of 2016. Irene Taylor Trust & Changing Tunes provided a list prisons they are regularly in and/or have contracts with to remain in. Beating Time and 2makeit provided information regarding which prisons they currently run courses in as well as prisons they are soon to start in. Other information is gather from telephone conversations and the most recent information available on their websites and the clinks directory. A reference tab is included in this map to state where the information was gathered.
